Charles Leclerc of Ferrari has claimed pole position for the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix, edging out McLaren's Oscar Piastri in a thrilling qualifying session at the iconic street circuit.
Leclerc, who has been in superb form all weekend, set a blistering lap of 1:10.346, just 0.023 seconds ahead of the Australian rookie. It is the Monegasque driver's sixth career pole in Monaco, a record in the prestigious race's history.
The front row for Sunday's race will feature a mix of experience and youthful exuberance, with Leclerc's experience on the circuit expected to be a major advantage. Piastri, on the other hand, will be making his Monaco GP debut and will be eager to prove himself against the sport's elite.
